This was a project for school. We were to design a three fold brochure and rack card cohesive in design and along our chosen company's brand identity. I chose to do The Ritz Carlton, Toronto, as I have always been drawn to luxurious and contemporary hotels.
I conveyed the hotel's brand across through the use of their current logo and font, and through the gorgeous pictures found on their website. I kept the design simple but with bold and unexpected hits of luxury, which creates timeless and professional feel.
I wanted to create a unique experience for the viewer. Rather than a typical brochure promoting pricing, sales and charts, I turned it into an enjoyable experience. The inside fold before opening the brochure fully says "Read on to Experience our Luxury". On the inside, instead of the typical 3 column text and pictures I wanted to continue the luxurious experience by providing the viewer with an "art piece". The pictures are in two rows and create an art gallery-like feel, and the company logo is painted in watercolour, further emphasizing the artful experience.
The rack card was designed with the same artful experience in mind, but only focuses on one aspect of the hotel, as space is limited. The rack card is designed with a die cut, and the curved edge is where the cut will be, accentuating the hotel's magnificent architecture.
