  • Resphigi's Pines of Rome
A Project for the Laredo Symphony
    Group Project Fall 2010
  • Respighi’s Pine’s of Rome is a symphony with four different movements, in all which had to be well represented in a film. The goal was to create an animation to give visual stimulation to the audience while listening to the live symphony. After 9 weeks and working in teams to create a 22 minute animation for the Laredo Philharmonic, our project was selected to show at the symphony.

This project competed against 6 other groups, I am proud to announce that our group won, and will be showing at the Laredo Philharmonic beginning on October 30th 2011 at Tamiu in Laredo, Texas.

    Credits:
Art Director, Writer, Production Designer: Carmen Garza

    Specifications:
All the art in this film is from recycled materials. A lot of mixed media was used, for example, watercolor, plaster for creating the cliffs, and 3ds max for the tree. In some parts we used bits of pieces of carpet, cloth, and newspaper.

Award Winning Project: The Laredo Philharmonic; will have this movie playing along with the live orchestra.
