'Reg Perfect' was a project handed to us on my foundation course, where we were asked to create promotional material for a fictional band whose genre of music had to be one which we didn't usually listen to. I chose Jazz and added a regional slant to the mix deciding they would be from Birmingham. I decided to draw on the image of the smoke-filled jazz club and create a series of matchbooks with four different collograph prints on, each illustrating the band's Brummie heritage. Due to the stigma smoking has in today's society, I wanted to subvert the piece, filling the book with information about the band and a link to their website.
