  • Refuge
  • Refuge is the first of two books about my adoption and how it has affected me throughout my life. Before I started the edition, I had never explored my feelings about it in depth or revisited my childhood notions of "home." This book became a way for me to share the idealized world I dreamed up as a child, through the eyes of an adult who knows she can never go there.
  • "Incomplete and abandoned"
  • "I never felt at home"
  • "A foreigner in my surroundings"
  • "I find myself displaced"
  • "In silence I retreat"
  • "In silence I wish for refuge"
