Recycled Type
Recycling is something that has always been important to me. When people don't recycle, it bothers me. Recycled type is a series of display typefaces created from recycled materials such as plastic and cardboard. I also attempted to create a typeface using aluminum cans, but didn't end up following through with this because working with sharp shards of metal is quite the dangerous challenge.
Each letter was constructed by hand, photographed, and then retouched. The purpose of this project is to promote how things that are typically perceived as trash can be repurposed into something beautiful.
