  • ReCreativity is the appointment with the advertising organized by the City Social and Cultural Association and the Association Threetype of Latina (Italy).
Every year, this contest offers all operators in the communication sector, students and professionist to work about social issues with a poster design contest.
This year's competition consist in 3 different briefs: one about the conspiracy of silence, in collaboration with the Association "Libera", another about the drought emergency in Africa, in collaboration with the Association "AMREF" , and the last one dedicated to 2011 as the European Year of Volunteering in collaboration with "Croce Rossa Italiana".
I worked with Danilo Cinciripini for poster graphic design, working together in every phase of work, from brainstorming, image search and layout.
We have developed some concepts individually, but we have interpreted together.

We sent 6 works at the competition, 5 works were selected for the catalog and the exhibition.
  • Brief No. 1: Conspiracy of silence in collaboration with the Association "Libera"
For this brief, we worked on the dictionary definitions of the word creating typesetting layout that "censor" some words, to communicate feeling of censorship and injustice.
These posters have passed the selection for the exhibition and the catalog.

  • Brief no.2 : drought emergency in Africa, in collaboration with the Association "AMREF"
For this brief, we worked on two concept: the cracks in the parched land and the water drop.
We thought of as the cracks in the parched land will also be the bed of a river that brings water and life and therefore we have combined the flow of water to the consequence of a better life for the people living in that country.
This poster has passed selection for the exhibition and the catalog.

The other concept is related to the personal history of a drop of water, about the trip she made every day before became drinking water and how she would like to visit Africa, bringing agriculture, health and hygiene.
This manifesto has not passed the selection for the exhibition and the catalog. (WE'RE VERY SORRY!)

  • Brief no. 3: 2011 the European Year of Volunteering in collaboration with "Croce Rossa Italiana".
This brief was the most difficult, because it required the representation of a gesture as the volunteer is often stereotyped or abstract.
Thinking about the physical gestures that are engaged in voluntary, we noted that the hands perform an important role like the action of "pulling on something" like a curtain, a wall, a cable.
We thought the volantary requires this kind of physical effort.
So we wanted to represent the word "voluntary" held up by hands.

To reach the final pagination we have implemented a long and complex work that has led to a very special and full of emotions poster.
This poster has passed selection for the exhibition and the catalog.
  • Step no.1 - drawing by hand the phrase to insert in the poster
