The Ventura County ReEntry Expo is geared towards reintroducing ex-inmates back into all facets of society. The brochure was designed to engage while subtly setting aside prejudice and replacing it with curiosity, and setting the stage for a dialogue of common ground. It goes without saying that the term ex-inmate carries heavy negative stigmas, so when designing this brochure, I thought it was key to emphasize exactly what an ex-inmate is; a normal person. The simple character designs were meant to be as relatable as possible, while also representing the multiple paths ex-inmates can follow once released.
The color scheme of orange and green was chosen because of the subconscious associations the human brain makes when absorbing orange and green. Research has shown that the average person will associate orange with; sociability, invigoration, and activity. Similarly, people associate green with; honesty, growth, and success.
The outside of the brochure's dimensions measure 8.5" X 5.5", while the inside of the brochure measure's 8.5" X 11"
