The Queen's Award For Industry given to ZED Tunnel Guidance Systems by the Duke of Kent on Thursday 20th October 2011.
On Thursday 20th October, I headed down to ZED Tunnel Guidance Systems to photograph the Queen's Award being presented to Mike Lowe at their Hersham workshops by the Duke of Kent.
Partnering allies from China and Germany, ZED have developed a laser guidance system which is mounted in front of the massive drilling machinery that bore tunnels. Using a laser and several lenses, ZED's unique system maintains accuracy throughout these enormous engineering projects across the world.
This was an extremely interesting project for me as I love shooting in workshops although it was a challenging day and the first time I had photographed Royalty.
