- Pylon Typeface
A latticework experiment
- The Pylon typeface is a typeface based on the rhythm and lattice shapes of electricity pylons. For each letter a specific shape from a pylon was chosen and enlarged. This construction makes them interlockable, but also works with large spacing. Hopefully, with this typeface, people will be able to appreciate the shape and rhythm of pylons more, and will give pylon enthusiasts a new way to express themselves and their hobby. The typeface comes in two versions, the narrow spaced, interlocking, Pylon normal, and the wide spaced Pylon Wide. The Wide version recreates the rhythm and pattern of electricity pylons across the landscape. The font is free and can be downloaded here.
The font was user for my bachelor exhibition 'My obsession for obsessions' where a 5mm acrylic laser-cut version was used on a wall.
