Crafting Critters [ Pixels] to {Pencils}
This KS2  cross curricular science workshop was conceptualised by Yewande Okuleye and Dr Mandy Roshier of the School of Vertinary Science, University of Nottingham. The objective of the workshop was to create an enviroment where students could respond  to hair and skin parasite samples and scientific illustrations in interactive ways. The visual learning lab offered students an opportunity to use smartboard interactive white boards and multi-slides, (a software plug-in developed for PowerPoint) to explore both  the form and funtion of a range of parasites. This allowed students to compare and constrast images on different screens. In addition to using digital drawing tools, students were encouraged  to  make observational drawing with traditional drawing impliments. The students produced a range of digital and non digital drawings and they were invited to display and critique their own work.
