Promotional Mailer
This was a project set at university where we had to create a promotional mailer to represent ourselves to companies to try and get ourselves a work placment just for a week or 2 weeks or even a couple of days.
I based my promotional mailer on theZebra Finch Bird, this is obviously because of my name being 'Finch' but also because of its intellegence, beauty and it's great personality, i believe and others agreed that the Zebra Finch was the perfect match to me and really portrayed me as a person. Therefore following this i did alot more research and studied the bird and its features, realising that the Orange cheek was iconic and very important for this bird to be recognised by others, this led to me using it in my logo and on my design work for the rest of the mailer to be 'iconically recognised'.
Following this, because i decided to base my mailer on the bird i felt it was necessary to have my mailer portray a economical and recyclable feel to it. Therefore i used only the colours deep grey and orange and screenprinted everything for a more rustic feel. All the pieces inside are recyclable paper, card and wood.

I decided to screenprint onto a feather
1. Because it relates to the theme of birds and obviously their key feature
2. I felt it related to me and how i often fly off with my imagination.
Therefore after thinking about this i decided i wanted to screenprint 'Fly with your imagination' onto a feather. It was the most hardest thing i have ever had to do, it is very difficult and took a long time, and i went through alot of feathers! But it was deffinately worth it in the end as they came out very well as soon as i got the process correct.

My Creative CV
My Business card, i created the envelope myself using chalk paper because of its GSM and texture, i found was perfect for my mailer.
My business card was created with hand made paper so is very delicate.
The reason for the grass seeds was because it related to the birds as that is what they eat, but also you can plant them so i wanted to reflect a bit of imagination into that and like the band around the middle says "find a place to sow your seeds and grow" i feel this is a great message as everyone grows physically and mentally.
