Project "Valkyrie"- part 1

The project "Valkyrie" is my Masters' degree show project in Royal College of Art in London and it is officially sponsored by Palmer Johnson Group. (www.palmerjohnson.com)

Today the super yacht industry is facing a very difficult time due tothe current situation of the world with its economic crisis. From the far endof the spectrum this makes it the ideal moment to fascinate and captivatepotential clients through truly innovative design. The super yacht industrywould require a rapid change.
The wayof making profit on the sea with ships is very limited such as transportation. The main purpose of this projectis to design the first yacht which canmake profit by creating cultural space suchas theatres, restaurants, lounges on theocean. Opening to not only the owners of super yachts but also their wealthycliental and would allow them to experience new life on the ocean.
My final project aimsto prove that sculptural shape such as deconstructivism from architecture couldbe applied to the yacht by using new hull and innovative technology.

Thetrimaran hull which is more stabile, energy efficient could provide more spaceon the after deck and open up a variety of exciting possibilities for theexterior design. This is due in part to the increased hexagon-shaped spacestretched by the sponsons compared to that of a simple rectangular space from amono hull. The benefits could satisfy not only maximised interior space butalso allow for a beautiful exterior.
