WIP Game Level Design Project using CryEngine 3 - Having previously started this project with a friend, after his leave I have now decided to carry on making this game solo! To be made with the CryEngine 3 sandbox editor, as making games are my absolute one and true passion, I want to be able to one day know everything there is to know into "what it takes" to make a video game, and not ANY old video game... a GOOD video game.Project Ambiance is designed to be a homage to classic survival-horror games like the first few installments of Silent Hill, Resident Evil and even less famous franchises such as Clock Tower.The project's aims are to have a fully-working game that consists of 45- 90 mins of game-play, encourages exploration, atmosphere generation, tension and features strong and entwining narratives, which take place all through an abandoned sea village stuck in the 90s after the protagonist awakes arrives in town.Mechanics features third-person over-the-shoulder camera angles, item scavenging, wear & tear -over-time, no HUDs or UIs and what I call Pursuing game-play, I promise that it will be just like classic Survival-horror; and am hoping to deliver the game digitally, totally free for people to sample.This project is WORK-IN-PROGRESS only and operates on a strict no-funding basis.
The new design for the protagonist with a focus on a more modern, youthful appearance to help keep true to the character's nature and age group. These designs would also allow for more wear and tear to be shown visually on the character throughout the game.
The second re-design stage of the main character and her doppelganger fiend after the thumbnail drawings. This was really an experiment to see the character with blonde hair, slightly more monotone clothing and the extent of damage.

After much debating (with myself!) over the re-direction of the project and new staff changes, here are the latest thumbnail designs for the main protagonist!
A collection of grey-mesh assets built inside 3D Studio Max for the hotel rooms, lobbies and various other sections.
The cute, 5-second "Paper Doll" of our main character, put here only by strong request from my friend; this little person represented the main color scheme the protagonist would embody.
Several hours of work later after the "Paper Doll" here is the protagonist with her fully-designed outfit and alternate appearance. Drawn with Adobe Photoshop CS5.
Now dropped in favor of a more recent, modern design.
A head-mesh in progress for a secret and un-named secondary character!
A common prop to be found in the video game, always out of reach and in the hands of another; weapons will not be something the player has easy access to and will be forced to primarily either hide, run or dispatch enemies in the game WITHOUT the use of firearms.
