As a book designer, you have the chance to become engrossed with a story you otherwise may not have come across. Profiles in Survival pieces together the chilling details of the Bataan Death March through the firsthand accounts of soldiers and survivors. I had no idea this atrocity even existed, and really wanted to capture the savageness of their experiences. What really stood out in my mind was the the raw brutality these men suffered at the hands of a crumbling Japanese army.
