Profile picture (How to)

This is a quick guide about how I made my profile picture.
I started with an original picture of me which i had from a recent photo shoot.
! Make sure you make a copy of the content you are erasing, because you'll need it later on !

I erased myself halfway with the content-aware tool, and after that I checked it for mistakes. If there where any I corrected them with the clone-stamp tool.

Next you want to make yourself disappear/crackle/blown away in particles/ whatever you would like to call this effect.

By using the clone-stamp tool i started to make "particles" of my hair. Sometimes you can use the eraser-tool to blur out some of the harsh edges (or just urn your clone-stamp a bit down)

I continued with making particles along the edge of my hair.
I'm just following the contour of my erased body and continue making particles.
The next step I did is activate the layer which contains the erased body part. So when I make more particles you can see the background behind it.
Continue making more and more particles, you can even set them in a sort of splash or stroke. By doing this you'll get the "blown away" effect.

If you make more layers you can even blur some on the background, so they appear further away then the particles on the foreground.

After this I mirrored the image, because I like it more that way, but thats just my opinion.

I spent a lot of hours into this work, and i only used the clone-stamp tool and the eraser tool.

It takes a lot of precision to get in done, but it also takes a lot of patience.

Good Luck!
