Printmaking and Opera

  • These prints are the result of my first drypoint on copper. We were given a book at random, and had to create two prints representing the frontispiece and title page for it. My book told the stories of famous operas, so i listened to three operas and scratched marks into my copper as I felt them.

From this project I learnt that copper is flippin expensive and I might have to join forces with the skollies who steal copper pipes and wires, and that printmaking is THE BOMB (which I already knew, but now I have no doubts).

Below is the whole series of 5, including two initial test prints, and well as one fat lady singing, to finish it off.
