I originally had this idea in 1999 as part of a project at college, at the time I posed an altar boy praying in a local church- something I would like to do again. I reproduced the image here using creative commons photo from Flickr. This piece is not intended to imply abuse by or to those in the image- it is a comment on the history of abuse and the culture of cover-up in the Roman Catholic Church, particularly in Ireland. I am a co-founder of the campaign www.countmeout.ie which has raised debate in Ireland concerning the church's influence in Ireland.
