- prey (verb) - to take booty; to hunt; to ravage
for (prep.) -used to indicate the object, aim, or purpose of an action or activity
piece (noun) - a written, musical, or artistic work that someone has produced
Prey for Piece is the design equivalent of that quiet little boy in your classroom, that boy who is always staring blankly at the blackboard. That boy who finds the bizarre in the average.
- The design is inspired by the “food chain”, the most fascinating relationship in the animal kingdom. Food chains are interconnected. Animals consume other animals and, in turn, serve as food for a variety of other creatures. It acutely defines the essence of Prey for Piece. Obtaining inspiration from others, and in turn, provides inspiration for other artists.Even though the food chain relationship is violent by nature, the design exhibits a peaceful tone with its calm colors and lucid strokes.
- The environment I belong to has a huge impact in my ideas. Contrary to the world of advertising, where the creative executions are analytically planned beforehand. My ideas are usually inconclusive when I begin drawing it on paper. A lot of details unfold in the process. That’s what makes my designs and illustrations unpredictable, even for me.
