Issue: Child Poverty in New Zealand

Approach:
The statistics and facts are linked though the story of a fictional character
“Sally” living in poverty. The story has been incorporated to evoke an
emotional connection between the viewer and the issue. We wanted people to see
a face they could sympathize with. Her
story, a tale of poverty in New Zealand, is
largely left untold. Poverty in New
Zealand is often “pushed aside” against the other issues that we see within
daily news. This book was created in order to
educate and gain support/ participation for the charitable
organisation,
KidsCan.
