The goal of this project was just to do some plain old portrait work. I wanted to build up a background with acrylics before putting it into photoshop and digitally rendering it. This method is one of my favorites because it really allows you to lay down some of the shapes by hand rather than with the Wacom tablet. Also you can get a nicer blend of colors when your painting. Once the paintings done Photoshop and the Wacom do the rest.
The top image is the portrait done in acrylic paint on an 12x24 inch canvas an the bottom image is the final produced with the scan of the painting and the Wacom tablet.
