This project was done during erasmus period in Budapest, Hungary, and it reflects and it records moments from my hungarian experience.
These are photos, of old slide pictures projected on a model. Those slide pictures were found in a large box in a pile of street trash. The old Slides (positive film) was just ready to be projected in any home slides projector, and so I did.
long nights going through the 700+ single slides...
About the pictures: the miss-organization of the original owner told us very few. After some hours running through the slides, it was understandable that the pictures are holidays snap-shots, from an old couple traveling in Hungary and abroad. Most pictures have as primary person the 'lady' (unknown name) probably (also) very fond of her Husband, 'the photographer' (also unknown name).
As a good documentary collection of snap-shots, it was very easy to understand and almost be present in their holiday life-style in the 60's/70's, the camping habit in the wild and in totally interesting camping parks, their little funny yellow car, the rest-stops at side roads to enjoy the view or to get some sun…
In very rare occasions the photographer appears in pictures, an old guy looking always as lovely as the Lady. These rare times 'the photographer' appears increased our delightfully excitement while looking through the vacations of this couple, as a trip to the hungarian past.
We also assume the couple died and the family threw away the Slides.
With this summary about the origin of the pictures, I meant to strengthen the Why of this kind of pictures projected on a very closed person I met during the erasmus period.
The fusion of the old pictures with the new generation which are also pre-elder individuals, crossing the experiences and countries of The Happening... The memories... The beautiful of the meaningful "Old" projected on the "New"....
