Porto Alegre Botanical Garden

  • Considered one of the 5 biggest Brazil's Botanical Gardens, Porto Alegre Botanical Garden was founded in 1953, consolidating itself as an acknowledged icon in the areas of scientific research and environmental education. However, the lack of a solid and continuous planning led to a precarious infrastructure condition and a heterogeneity in its signaling and furniture. This project had as objectives the creation of a solid identity, rescuing, at the same time, the interaction experience among visitor and environment.
  • The main materials used were plastic wood and electrostatic painting coated aluminium. Although presenting a high inicial investment in comparison to simpler alternatives, its choice is based in its excelent durability, workability and ecological appeal features.
