Portfolio and Works In Progress

  •  Thank you for visiting my Works in Progress/Portfolio page!
As you can see, I still have work on my plate and am updating constantly.  If you have a request or project for me, send an email to sally.studley@yahoo.com with RE: 3D Portfolio.
I am currently working on building a professional portfolio (without all these W.I.P.s) and appreciate any ideas you might have.  I am mostly a modeler (using 3ds max, Maya and Zbrush), though I have animated and will do more once I get my render farm built (albeit cheaply built).

  • I am applying for Creative Hair Designer of the Decade.... feel free to laugh, you'll be wearing this and calling it The Style soon enough! :P
  • DISCLAIMER: Second hand smoke kills.  Please do not inhale while viewing this clip. :|

  • Alchemists' Transmutation Circle in mid magic/glow effect.
  • Bare guitar, pegs and strings sold separately.
  • Edge loops set for ease of rigging and facial deformations.
  • Cloth simulation in 3ds Max.
  • Camera flying listlessly through a tunnel of clouds.  Very short animation, may have to slow it down and re-upload later.
  • Innocent appearing Teapot advances on the defenseless Pomegranate, appearing to grow fangs as it does.  Part of an animation I am currently rendering.  Woot, 12 hours to go!  :D
  • The Pomegranate, having been placed down by the human, thought s/he had escaped death...  But in a world of animate inanimate objects, danger comes in all forms.
  • Pommie at first glance.
  • Circa 1997.
  • Lower poly blossoms on branch.  Needs further reduction for a less insane tree of full blossoms, depending on focus of the shot.
  • An individual blossom top-down view.
  • circa 1997-ish.
  • We all die young...sorta.
  •  Zbrush sculpting.

  • Creating some shaders and testing reflections.
  • In mid-modeling state.  Fuselage and engines not fused.
  • Created model and textures.  Wing texture taken mainly from a photo of a spider web that was reflecting the light in such a way to appear to give that insect/rainbow transparency effect.
  • Grotesque--but happy--turtle.
  • No displacement in this render.
  • Ink and Paint, I forget if I just used the shader here for it or the more complicated way with line thicknesses and shadows.  But at least I don't have to draw 24 frames per a second.
  • Hair and Fur hates myself as well as my personal computer. (It's a big, fat, process hog--like a damn couch potato that kicks his dirty socks all over your floor and then proceeds to eat all the Doritos you were saving for a midnight snack.)  I could only manage a half-Albert Einstein, half carrot top, and dash of Dr. Suess mixture of hair before it became unresponsive and too damn annoying.
  • No, you don't get to pull up a chair.  No chairs for you!  Also, eerie lack of power cords...yet the monitor is still working.
  • Aligning as best as can with the bit of barrel-distortion.
  • And over-correct to make him look like a junkie instead of an evil bug alien.  Hmmm... *wonders which is worse*
  • Lower detail Monkey "Charles" with only procedural mapping set-up to MAT ID the sections.
  • Simple concept sketch of end-scene characters.
  • Start of a character.
