- Lorawn Dupree
- Six years ago I was graduating from high school. There were
lots of questions that needed to be answered, but the most
important one to me was, will I live doing what I love doing?
At that moment, I remember it like it was yesterday. I wanted
to “live creatively, creatively living.” I can honestly say after
college, that’s probably not going to happen. Yet, I will be
able to use my creative talents and express them in a product
development collection or think outside of the box and bring
an innovative twist to a business plan. Today, I have found my
beacon, a sunset horizon, balanced and shining within me— a
seed planted that meshes my creativity with my analytic and
forward thinking mind.
In college I worked in retail. Little did I know it would be an
important chapter in the journey of me becoming me. I
breathe fashion in all aspects of my life now and I am happy.
Living creatively is deeper then words, it is a lifestyle in itself and
it is my lifestyle. I am evolving, always improving in my ability to
understand my environment and its impact.
Often, when new times arise people are stagnate. New
times are arising. My portfolio displays key insights into the
industry, with forecasting and trend analysis. Showing marketing,
design, product development, graphic design, coupled with
lots and lots of research. The process begins with a business plan
that brings innovation into the retail industry, then follows with a
product development collection that integrates this innovation
into the mix. The final marketing plan delineates both the brand
and the path necessary to achieve its success.
The fashion retail world is forever changing, and I stay one
step ahead. Right now in our technology driven world
the customer has more control over the market then ever.
Smart phones at hand, the retail world is facing an educated
customer. A consumer who knows how to use the internet to
express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction and thus influence
other. In this new era, customers are no longer numbers and
analytics. They are the expression of a lifestyle, living and
responding in a real world, in real time.
The Business Plan
- Clothes4Cameras’ Spring Summer 2012 collection, themed CORKYChic is all about color, prints, and innovative fabrics. In this collection we collaborate with artist Garance Dore. Dore specializes in illustrations,
but wanted to expose her work to her followers who all seemed to be fashion lovers. She is very free and spontaneous, and wanted an opportunity to work close with our product developers.
With this prefix of an idea we went to work. As the idea developed, we played with placement for Dore’s illustrations. What we ended-up finding was that her illustrations looked great on everything. That is how we birthed the idea of giving the customer the opportunity to choose a graphic that can be married to any item of the collection. Have fun designing.

- Clothes4Cameras is beyond the traditional clothing store. We are making a definite impact on what the women in the Bay Area expect from their fashion and style. We are bringing customization, variety and choices to the fashion market. Our marketing initiative is to grow sales, increase membership programs, and ultimately make the customization market in fashion a more viable market. This marketing package is built to increase visibility in the market by being interactive, engaging and creative.
Pushing to predict how technology can enable customization being brought to the fashion market has been a great focus in retail within the last five years. This has been a struggle for not only the high-end market but also a question of industry. At this moment, retail, in general has hit a stagnate pace and technology will be the thing to revitalize it. We will launch the “Udesign” site to host our customizable, Garance Dore’ CORKYCHic2012 collection. We will build a “Possibilities of Style” campaign to promote this new launch and collaboration.
