In tribute to its name, Por Dentro is found inside the centerpages of El Nuevo Día, Puerto Rico’s main newspaper.
I grew to be Creative Director for the Features Design team. Our awesome team designed features ranging from daily, weekly to monthly publications. I worked directly with editors, reporters, team designers, photographers and illustrators on a daily basis, establishing art direction, layout, comps and final designs.
Our goal in Por Dentro was to tell stories to our target audience of women through our graphic approach. Weekly concept and production meetings enabled us to continually create simple, straightforward images that played directly with the headings and storyline.
For our work we received various awards from the SND (Society of Newspaper Designers) as well as recognition in the local Asppro (Asociacion de Periodistas de Puerto Rico) association.
Our team consisted of Natalia Pi, Art Director and designers Gustavo Usabal, Robin Rivera and Ricky Avalo.
