Pop In - Complete Original Restaurant Concept

  • Pop In - Original Coffee Shop Experience
Group Project - Complete Brand Identity and Original Coffee Shop Experience
  • Pop In is a concept for an exciting, completely original, Pop Art inspired coffee house.
This was created as a group project to which we all came to this exciting final conclusion.
The brief was completely open for us to interpret how we see fit, the main criteria was purely to create an entirely new exciting and original coffee shop experience for UK high streets.

In doing a lot of research we decided as a group that the 1950's style of Pop Art might be a fun way to introduce some colour, fun and excitement to the shopping centers of the UK.
Pop In implying that you can just pop in for a quick snack if you wish or of course you can dine inside.
We thought of pretty much everything from how the menu's looked, marketing ideas, signage, brand operations, staff uniform and much more.
Below is a collection of some of the extensive work we put in to present this idea.
  • WIndow Sticker Mockup on Glass
  • The final Pop In logo, inspired by the 1950's Pop art and american diners.
  • The really cool thing about all the take away packaging is that the way we used the logo, we enlarged it and split it into the amount of house colours we had, by collecting five pieces of takeaway packaging and placing them next to each other in a certain way you build up the complete Pop In logo and image. The idea of this was to inspire people and their friends to go together and collect the "puzzle pieces"
  • The takeaway sandwich boxes in 3 of five house colours
  • The takeaway baguette wrapping, as you can see here part of the logo is at the bottom left
  • Another baguette holder in another house colour, as you can see a different part of the logo is on this one.
  • Soft drink cups used in the store, complete with fun curly straws. Again if a group of friends came in they could make up the pop in logo using the packaging they buy. Young people might be inclined to take a picture on their mobile and upload it to their favourite social media site.
  • Panini & other hot sandwich holders. Here you can see how they form the logo.
  • Takeaway bags for people that buy several items.
  • Baguette and hot food holders.
  • Multiple items of takeaway packaging.
  • Basic illustrator mock-up of how the interiors might look
  • Basic illustrator mock-up of how the exteriors might look
  • Fun pop art "decor" posters that would be on the walls.
  • Decor posters for the walls.
  • Another of many fun posters.
  • We used a smart car as a promo vehicle to advertise the company, this made sure that the company wasn't viewed as just an old fashioned american diner rip off.
  • Place mats for the tables in store.
