- PONDOK BULAN
Embracing ones heritage
An often overlooked but non the less important
part of sustainable architecture is the sustainabilityof aesthetics. A good sustainable building should
blend in with its surroundings, complementing theenvironment it is in rather than making a separate
and often trend sensitive statement. Referring to
ones heritage shows a sense of cultural awareness
and is often appreciated by the local community.
Pondok Buland can be found near the remote village of Tete Batu which is located on the southern slopes of Gunung Rinjani. Tete Batu is a cool mountain retreat with beautiful rice terraces, lush tropical forests. it's hot, wet and misty during the rainy season and dry and cool during the dry season.
