Polyhedra Warp is a project designed to unite my interest for contemporary technology, renaissance scientific approach to proportions and geometry , material exploring and of course, all that is processed through traditional media such as drawing and painting.
The basis for the serial of drawings and paintings that are in progress are Wentzel Jamnitzer's polyhedra studies. Wentzel Jamnitzer (1508-1585) edited his book "Perspectiva Corporum Regularum" with beautifully designed polyhedras that perfectly reflect creativity and hermetic philosophy of the Renaissance period.
I've used Jamnitzer polyhedras, "warped" them in graphic softwares and generated new forms that I use as a central motif for charchoal drawings and paintings on the canvas.
Painting technology is always an experiment and mixture of traditional and new materials and tools such as metal, fire, petrol, acid, tar, acrylic, oil, shellack...
In my drawing progress I sometimes use some other polyhedra models as well but Wentzel Jamnitzer engravings made strongest influence on my curiosity and perspective interest.
