Pocket Dealer; iOS app

Pocket Dealer was a concept created as part of a Self Authorship brief, where we get to choose the subject we'd like to explore. I went through a number of different themes, learning new things. But one I struggled with was drugs. Finding first hand, primary research was difficult, since I'm not connected very well in this sub-culture of drug related activity.

So whilst struggling to think of something to say about this part of my interesting exploration, due to the lack of contact I could find with people who sell drugs, I created a concept where I could pick up my phone, download an app and find a drug dealer instantly. I like to think of it as an Ebay/Gumtree drug trading app.

So what you do is:
1.Create a profile
2. Search for drug dealers near you
3. Check prices and potentially buy drugs. When finished - leave a rating/comment (Positive or Negative)

Design style was something I wanted to still feel a little bit secretive. This was achieved through minimal colour, so that it's not splashing out of the screen, keeping it discrete and using a typeface which is very rigid and doesn't feel too fussy, just keeping things simple. (Just like drug dealing, quick, no fuss & discrete).

If you're wondering why I've used a hanging pair of trainers, it's because through research and investigation in my local area, people were hanging shoes on telephone wires to mark their territory as a drug dealer. It lasted a while, people complained about the rise in activity and they were taken down by local police.

It wouldn't be something promoted outragously. I'd want people to find it for themselves and then have it promoted through word of mouth. Since finding a drug dealer for some people isn't so easy, it might come at a price. But for now, let's just say it's free.

So there you have it, the concept for Pocket Dealer. Whip out your phone and find a dealer without any hassle. Crazy idea I know, obviously it would never happen for many reasons. But I amused myself for a while thinking WHAT IF. So there, hope you enjoy it. Just a bit of fun!

Log In Screen
Either type in Username (CreateAccount Bar will swap to a password entry field)
OR press create account to go through procedures.
Your Account Screen
Once signed in, this is the first page you'll see.
Your account with ratings you've recieved.
Any box with white text inside and a dropped back button means other options are available
(E.G the 'Online' button & 'Recent Ratings' button)
Messages Screen
Self explanatory, similar to existing messaging programmes.
Map Screen
Search filter in the bottom right corner to choose radius etc. to narrow a search down, or make it bigger.
Each pin shows dealers in the vacinity. Red (Unselected). Green (Selected) - Options show at the top of screen.
Profile Details Screen
This screen can be found through the map when pressing 'Profile Details'.
Simply shows which drugs are for sale, showing a green dot next to the drugs currently in stock.

Profile Details Screen
Once a drug is selected, sizes and prices will drop down.
This way, there can be an on the spot decision of whether you want to buy or not, based on price.
Profile Details Screen
Once pressing 'User Ratings', you can see feedback.
Again, as the 'Recent Ratings' is white text with a dropped back button, this is a field with more options.
So you can see 'Oldest Ratings', 'Recent Ratings', 'Negative Ratings', 'Positive Ratings'.
Contacts Screen
Showing all of the contacts you've added.
Plus at the top there is an invites button to see who has added you and gives you the option to accept or decline.

This is just a quick overview of all of the screens.
Advertising Concept
Hopefully through the awareness of the app, dealers will become more approachable and start to run a better service for a better reputation! No one likes a bad rating...
Sticker Pack
With these stickers, users of the app can mark their territory, simply by writing their name and placing it on the street somewhere. Users of the app will know exactly what this is because of the logo in the corner.
Hopefully due to the red outline and white surface, it'll stand out in most conditions.

Someone can choose to search the user and get in contact.
A quick example
of the possible use. Conviniently placed on another highly visible sign.

Thank you for taking the time to view all of these. I hope you've enjoyed the work.

Creative concept, as a solution to the hidden nature of drug dealers, for those who want to seek them to buy drugs. Just a bit of fun!
