The Task
Design a 2pin to 3pin plug adapter for South Africa in accordance with the SABS standards for electrical components. This project is engineering based with specific focus on tolerancing to ensure precise pin placement.
The Outcome
An organic and dynamic plug adapter that was designed around anthropometric considerations. The adapter is shaped in a way that fingers can comfortably wrap around and remove it from a socket, a large draft taper also aids in this process. A soft lofted top cover not only looks good, it also makes plug insertion easy with a larger surface area to press on.
