Pixies
I think everyone had their ideas as to whether or not the pixies, given the age of the band, and the length of this current tour, was going to pull off a performance to which our thirsty ideals as loving fans desired. I mean most of us had adolescent memories to uphold here, and this show had the potential to taint them. Considering most of my generation is on some sort of SSRI, a show with the potential to crush what little good memories we (generation 30ish) have left. Memories of a time without the empirical precision regarding our innate horror as a species, scientifically and globally agreed, intertwined in most all good music and art. well... I think they pulled it off great. From the opening video of Dali's "Un Chien Andalou" which Debaser is written in regard warming up the crowd and setting a presence, to a double encore for which they lost no pace and showed some lovely variation to old favorites; the pixies simply WERE.
