Pivot Design 2010 Holiday Card

Open Books is an award-winning nonprofit social venture that operates an extraordinary bookstore, provides community programs, and mobilizes passionate volunteers to promote literacy in Chicago and beyond.

For Pivot's 2010 holiday card, we wanted to bring attention to the importance of adult literacy in America and Chicago. An estimated 23% of American adults are unable to demonstrate basic reading proficiency, making it hard for them to fill out job applications or even read a simple holiday card. Along with Pivot's generous donation to Open Books, the goal of this card was to bring awareness, and hopefully more donations, to nonprofits like Open Books who are key in battling illiteracy on a local and national level.
