This installation was designed for a high-end Beirut based boutique. The aim was to have a modifiable installation, with different adaptations for each season.
2,500 custom made, hand folded paper pinwheels are suspended in the boutique in a cloud-like formation which envelops and embraces the architecture of the space. A wind system was installed which allows the windmills to turn at varying speeds and at different moments.
The initial installation was in winter, with white pinwheels. Red ones were introduced to mark the sale, and yellow ones gradually took over with the arrival of spring.
A programmed wind system was put in place so that the windmills turn at random, and at varying speeds and times.
Modeling, prototyping, and testing in the studio.
On-site construction and assembly.
