Stephen Quatember designed a dress for a Cape Town design event Number 3, curated by Liam Mooney. Four photographers were tasked with capturing images of the same garment in different ways. Experimenting with film photography, I photographed of my cousin wearing the dress at work. I wanted to demonstrate the practical aspect of the dress and not to play it up in any way, making the series of images a simple observation.
I used only one reel of colour film, but at the time preferred the overall feel of black and white. Looking back, I like the light cast in the colour images.
