Taking small cues from philosophy and pop culture, these photographs are digital manipulations of handbuilt sculptures. I'm interested in shifts of sculptural form standing as metaphor for decoding subtleties. The core of the work lies the depiction and complexity of depicting a sublime awkwardness. Smooth Deleuzian folds, oozy blobs of pure of color, and mundane objects decorate, veil, define and mar carefully prepared and oxidizing surfaces. They are minimal and unapologetic works, full yet flat, and slightly self conscious. Teetering and ambiguous, silent and searching—large white bodies deform, self-identify, sulk, and celebrate. They are unique yet generic forms—suspended in an anonymous yet specific space, quivering to interact. Formulaic yet intutive, foreign and familiar, timeless and timely, all clash to heighten levels of our own awareness and endearing flaws.
