Philippine Food Catalogue

Frontispiece cover design for the Philippine Food Catalogue as commissioned by the Philippines' Department of Trade and Industry through its agency, the Bureau of Domestic Trade. The Catalog is a compendium of 113 micro and small food processors and manufacturers representing the diiferent products and food specialties unique and special to each region or province. This project involved the overall design direction, graphic design, food photography and food styling and print management and quality control to realize this major food promotion activity by the government. The release of this catalogue was timed with a Food Show, which was well-received bu the participating entities and trade food buyers themselves.

Typical inside page layout including Chapter opening pages and interior pages featuring styled food photography. Unique to the Philippines and nearby Southeast Asian countries, tropical fruit preserves comprise one of the major food exports
serving the Filipino and Asian immigrant populations in the US and other parts of the world. 
Photographing Tuna Chunks in different ways to give the product its appetite appeal. Since there were multiple companies offering similar products, focus was given to recipe development and food presenatation as its main differentiating factor.
Breakfast meats.
Milkfish, prepared Spanish Style, is called "Bangus" in the Philippines. The product is sold in jars and is called " Bangus Sardines", which is a misnomer, as the name sardines refers to another type of fish. 
The real sardines, done Spanish Style, refers actually to the preparation style of most Portuguese tinned sardines, though this product  comes in glass jars.
Virgin Coconut Oil, photographed in different flavor essences, the toast of health and wellness buffs. 
Rosquillos, a cookie variation, popular as a souvenir food product, originated in Cebu, a major tourist and trade hub in Southern Philippines.
