Mikel Horl was commissioned by the TATE to act as co-author, with Fiona Bradley and Angie Whitbread, in the making of an artist's book about the work of another artist. This piece was conceived as a sculptural and interactive experience for teachers to use demonstratively when discussing the work of Picasso and in particular the notion of Picasso as a "Sculptor/Painter". Horl was responsible for the visual language adopted and worked with the Tate publications department, supplying final artwork for reproduction. The process of making this book was conducted over many months and several key stages. The book was published to coincide with the exhibition PICASSO: SCULPTOR/PAINTER at the Tate, London in 1994/5.
