So,  I recently decided to try and move away from pencil and eraser and try something else i.e. Ballpoint pen. Each of these Portraits were done strictly in pen from start to finish and took no more than 6-8 hrs.

 

It was primarily done as an exercise to improve my accuracy and just to experiment with new media. Since whatever line you lay down becomes permanent it forces an accurate first touch. Nevermind the numerous mistakes that had to be reworked I actually prefer to work in pen now as opposed to pencil.
