Pedlars launched their Collaborations line in 2010. A bespoke range of bags, clothes and accessories designed and produced in partnership with some of Great Britain's oldest and most iconic brands; the partners included Globe-Trotter, Billingham, Lock & Co and Lodger. The collection was highly exclusive and available in limited short runs only.
We were asked to develop a concept for a look book that could be sent out to press contacts and high value customers to announce the launch and drive sales online. The book had to reflect the level of craft and heritage that the partners were all famous for, and fit in with the existing Pedlars identity that we had by then already implemented.
The full-page typographic illustrations in the book we concocted with the writer Ross Sutherland, who helped us glue together famous quotes by historical British figures to create new passages which echoed the spirit of partnership. Neil Williams was briefed to get some great lifestyle photography from the interiors and back rooms of the various participating shops and factories, and the book was finished with a special orange side-stitching taken from the product labels. The core of the book of course featured great photo detail of the products themselves and extensive writing about each partnership from the company founder, Charlie Gladstone.
The first Collaborations line sold out fast, and new lines and partners continue to be added today. The demand has a global reach.
