Transporter Launch Campaign
Parallels Transporter – an app that allows users to easily transfer all files from their PC to a Mac – was Parallels’ first product to be launched exclusively through the Mac App Store. A variety of strategies and supporting programs were developed to get the word out. The approach was to strike a strategic and creative balance of social media promotions, traditional media, marketing, and creative messaging – providing a greater reach with lower budget impact. Transporter hit the top 5 in most-downloaded paid apps in the Mac App Store.

Parallels Desktop 7 Product Launch Guidelines
Parallels was preparing to come out with a new version of their market-leading desktop virtualization software. Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac promised to raise the bar for competitors, and top management at the software company wanted a new package design to match.

To get the word out to people who might be new to the idea of desktop virtualization, tenfour developed this banner campaign that stretched into print media as well. The Mac-Windows family was a quirky-looking bunch that showed how Windows can get along with your Mac, dealing with a wide array of interests and needs.

The following are step-by-step design instructions on how, when and where to use various Parallels Desktop 7 campaign assets. The guidelines set the tone for all campaign-related media. I designed, wrote and created the standards for both of these campaigns.

The following are slideshare™ links to the campaign guideline assets.
