This leaflet is part of an ongoing collaboration between Ditto Press and the Werkplaats Typografie. The outside features a translation by William Wallaceof part of the first chapter including the typos from Pantographice.Christophori Scheiner published this book in 1631 to share with the world, an invention he made 28 years earlier: the Pantograph.
According to Scheiner, he fitted four wooden rods by means of needles and copied a picture of St Ignatius. One copy on a larger scale, around which he drew a series of distorted versions. If so, this poster is a remake of the very first image ever recreated using a Pantograph. And as such, a reproduction of the very first theoretically perfect reproduction.
