Pals for Paws is a non-profit organization committed to solving the dog and cat overpopulation crisis in Kokomo, Indiana and the surrounding areas. They are accomplishing this through education and grant money to assist with a low-cost spay/neuter program, “The Big Fix”. Pals for Paws works today to prevent tomorrow’s unwanted litters from being born. Each year over thousands of dogs/cats/puppies/kittens are euthanized by the Humane Society. Most of these animals were healthy and adoptable. There are simply not enough homes for them. Our goal is to reduce the number of surplus animals by preventing unnecessary births. For every human born today, 45 puppies and kittens are born. Only 1 out of 10 dogs and 1 out of 12 kittens find a forever home.
I worked alongside a volunteer from Pals for Paws to redesign their logo. Before it was red and blue and all in times new roman. The client wanted a bright friendly yellow and a logo to represent both cats and dogs, along with a friendly type. The end product is below and will be show officially January 2013 for all to see.
