A woman, chained by a patriarchal society. She defies themale-centered model of perfection (Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man) and rejects norms.A history of struggle on her shoulders, in each hand she claims her freedoms:political, intellectual, physical, sexual, and spiritual. Here is the body of amulti-racial woman, sold by religion as the Madonna, while also turned into anobject for sexual gratification and for procreation, a body for politicalagendas. The baby in arms represents the two American political parties, with donkeyears and an elephant trunk, feeding off her for their own benefit. One of herfallopian tubes has been ripped, killing the flower of life. Recognizing theplight of her sisters past, present and future, the top of her skull opens, settingthe souls of all women free. She is oppressed, but she is more than a victim: herthird eye is open, she is aware of her reality, and she confronts the viewerdirectly, compelling us to acknowledge her.
