During my junior-year high school english class, I read One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest as an independent read. We had to write a paper and have a visual aid that communicated something about the story.
Naturally, I did a painting, which I based off of a popular shot of Jack Nicholson from the movie of the book. I used matte medium to paste stories about mental institution abuses to canvas board and added some color images to add some color pop. Over it, I did the painting. It was really fast and gestural while referencing the image. Still am very proud of how it looks.
My photo is crap though. Sorry, but it's quite old.
