Paint your dreams. Clinophobia.
- Paint your Dreams
Clinophobia. - This brief consisted in choosing a phobia and designing something for the person suffering from it.
I chose to work with 'Clinophobia'; The fear of going to bed in case of what might happen during sleep.
My initial research looked into greek mythology and Morpheus 'the god of dreams' who was supposed to take care of you in your sleep. According to mythology Zeus hated Morpheus for revealing secrets from beyond death to humans through their dreams.
This made me interested in finding ways to record dreams.
Sleeping in the arms of morpheus.
Take your bed wherever you want it to be. Chose a place to sleep.
This artefact is attached to your body with strings, it records every movement made during sleep and transferes it onto a canvas.
It is a nice way for clinophobics to go to sleep, since they have something to look forwards to when they wake up in the morning.
This filmstrip is taken from an experimental video that aims to explain how this object would function.
Digital composite inspired by the project.
