While the city of Portland, Oregon is known for its vibrant citizens, scenery, bicycles, and books, it's rich history is often overlooked. Pacific Office Furnishings, a local office furniture dealer, looked to relay its history that dates back 1889, making it literally one of the oldest standing companies in Oregon.
They reached out to me to design a timeline that would bring life to their colorless basement and highlight their deep history in the Portland and Pacific Northwest community. Diving into their large collection of historical catalogues of their own and those of their primary dealer Herman Miller, the most engaging photos, product shots, patterns, and catalogue pages were scanned and digitally restored.
Laid out in chronological order, the six panels follow both Herman Miller and POF's history, showcasing their transformation from a humble stationary company to a dynamic furnishings company serving all the Northwest.
