YOUTH MOUNTAIN MAGIC
This was an Early College Program at the School Of The Art Institute at Chicago in 2014. The class was called "Art & Street Culture" and was co-taught by myself and Edra Soto along with the help of our T.A., Pat Reynolds. After a few days of collaborative exercises we brought the students to this wall and supplied them with spray paint and painters tape. I selected the palette, told them to generally limit the shapes to triangles, and drew the intial chalk lines delineating the parts of the wall which would be painted - but after that the students were given freedom to make their own decisions and sort things out as the wall progressed. We were consulted here and there for advice and technical demonstrations, but there were also times where our input was rejected entirely. It was an exciting and worthwhile adventure. Our fantastic and talented student collaborators on this wall were, Sara Dezara, Jeff Park, Margot Rousset, Julia Scheinman, and Sienna Williams.
LOVE NOW
Mural commission for Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce's Orange Walls project. This message was inspired by a graffiti artist who wrote LOVE NOW around the city of Chicago in the early 90's. LOVE NOW's current work can be seen here.
WITH ALL OF OUR MIGHT
Mural done with 9 youth apprentices/collaborators for Yollocalli Arts Reach during the summer of 2013. Yollocalli Arts Reach, a youth initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art, is a platform for innovative, urban art practices that generate youth agency. The Yollocalli model is based on creating a space for experiential learning, collaboration with emerging artists, and the autonomy for youth to realize their own vision. Originating from the heart of Pilsen, Yollocalli is a safe and nurturing environment that enables a progressive dialogue in urban and youth culture.
SAILING TO THE HOME OF THE HEART

RUNNING MAN
Enamel covered water cut steel drawing commissioned by Seattle's Sound Transit system. 2008
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
Mural created in 2006 with Michael Genovese, Matthew Hoffman & many fantastic volunteers for this State Street construction barrier. A feature in the You Are Beautiful project.
AMOR
2004 commission for the Chicago Transit Authority's California Station on the Congress/Douglass Blue Line.

The circular flight of birds from heart to heart suggests the passing of love from person to person and place to place as well as reflecting the coming and going of train passengers. The migration of birds from clear skies to rainy endorses the virtue of promoting love through happiness and hardship.
PAJARO DE LA LUZ BRILLANTE
2004 commission for City Of Chicago's Percent For Art Program.
JONATHAN BURR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
A fun and loose mosaic made with a group of grammar school students at Jonathan Burr Elementary School in Chicago. 2000 & 2001.
DO MY EYELIDS MAKE SPECTACLES OF THEMSELVES AS I LOOK WITHIN?
2000 private commission.
THE CHILDREN'S PLACE
Another fun, loose mosaic made in collaboration with Juan Angel Chavez for a children's hospice facility in Chicago, 1999. This is in a long narrow hallway and I never got the best documentation of the whole thing. Hopefully I can get back there soon and take some better shots.
