This is a poster I designed for my upcoming short film 'Final Hours'.
The poster was inspired by renowned artist Drew Struzan who designed the artwork for the classic Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Blade Runner Posters. The film is a variation of the classic fairy tale genre, so this art style seemed appropriate.
The poster features the main characters of the film, as well as a few plot elements; the knight battling the dragon, the sword in the grass and the uneasy father in the waiting room.
To create this poster, I used stills from the film as reference images and using photoshop, I utilized brush and smudging techniques to achieve the final 'painterly' style seen in the final image.
There are several variations of the poster, one with a brown background, then one with a blue background and finally a 'wine red' background. Each of these are for the financiers, who will recieve a copy of the poster for taking part in the fundraising campaign.
