PMI PRESSE JAUNE, 1950
Poster project on the subject of Montreal's "Presse Jaune" of the 1950's. Back in the 1950's, the newspapers that covered sensation and trashy news were refered to as "Presse Jaunne" (Yellow Press). These newspapers did not cover politics, science, health, economics etc., it was all about sensation and gossips, they were the local tabloids of the time.
This project was also part of the PMI workshop, we picked out old newspapers from the archives and reinterpreted some the titles and headlines. In yellow are newspaper names and in black overprint are news headlines.
Some translated examples:
TABOU – "She pushes him off the bed"
SENTEUX (smelly) – "New STAG party types"
FOUINE – "My girlfriend likes snakes"
