Utilizing forced perspectives, "Parallax" enhances the Salt Lake Desert experience by skewing perceptions of scale and distance. Through this optical illusion the real (or apparent) scale of the Salt Lake Desert can be more strongly experienced, helping people connect and better understand the surrounding context. While its corridors play with depth perception, its courtyards frame spectacular views of distant mountains - capturing the vast size of the location. The materials used also reflect the simplicity and clean appearance of the desert, while curtain walls offer views all around.
